With a small amount of content on a wide screen you are likely to overwhelm the viewer. This is due to large areas of solid coloured background. It can be solved…
Solution 1 – add a texture. These are images created to give a background some graininess or some small changes in the colour. The texture could be leather, paper, woven material, white noise, wallpaper patterns and many others.
Below are two before and after examples in a slide viewer. You will need to view the large versions to see the grain and texture.
If you like the texture effect – Ask your web designer to implement them.
Solution 2 – a semi-transparent layer over a background photo.
Why the layer over the photo? Well it softens the impact and detail of the photo so the words are the priority and easily read.
If you can see this being needed ask your web designer to implement.
